fun1Cub Scouts Activities

Pack 227 is an extremely active group. Just some of the exciting things we have done together, as a group has been; Spending an overnight at the Museum of Natural History - Dozin with the Dinos, Hunting for Fossils in the reknowned Mazonia Fossil area, attending Wolves Hockey games, spending a night on a real submarine, Bowling, Hiking, Geocaching, Summer Camps and much more.

Cub Scouts participate as a group and are priviledged to enjoy some exciting activities no other groups participate in. We go beyond sports group activities, beyond Church group activities and together experience fun things with our fellow Scouts and families. Come experience all that scouting can be.

CabinCub Scout Camping

Camping is a big part of Scouting. At the Cub Scout level, we do "family camp". Family camp is open to the Scout, accompined by a parent and Cub Scout leaders. Cub Scouts have access to many camping areas that are off limits to the general public. These "Youth Group" camping areas offer many fine amenities geared toward the Cub Scouting experience.

Cub Scouts is often a young boys first camping experience. It is a way to experience camping, with your son, in a safe structured environment. Camping is not a requirement of Cub Scouts but it will enhance the young Scouts experience with Scouting and prepare them for their journey ahead with Boy Scouts.

community-serviceScouting and Community Service

Pack 227 is very active in the Bartlett Community.

We have a Scouting for food drive every year where we go to our local residents and collect canned goods to supply the local food pantries. We work with the Township and do community work like painting storm drains and distributing fire safety fliers. We participate in the 4th of July Parade and Memorial Day services.

We are proud members of our community and work to make it a better place for all.

pinp370Pinewood Derby

Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby is an annual event celebrated by all Scout Packs across the country. A Scout builds a race car from a kit with the help of his parents. All of the cars must adhere to the same rules but can have unique designs. Pack 227's race is held in January every year with trophies for fastest cars and best design. The top three and one alternate have the opportunity to go to the entire district race usually held a couple months later.

Pack 227 owns a state of the art track with computer contolled timers and car release. The race is always a great amount of fun and builds bonds through the building and racing of the Scout's hand built car.

geocachingWhat in the world is Geocaching?

Geocaching and Scouts is a perfect match. Geocaching gets you outdoors, exploring new areas and experiencing nature while on an exciting treasure hunt.

Here is another term that describes Geocaching: Treasure Hunting. Yes, that's right, hunting for treasure. Hunting for treasure out in the wilderness is exactly what geocaching is! Lets compare Geocaching to a kind of treasure hunting you might be more familiar with. Pirates!
